Test Assistants – Covid -19 Schools programme

Test Assistant
Provides guidance and supervision to subjects on swabbing as requested. Collects completed swabs and pass them to the Processor. Ensures cleaning of swabbing desks.

Processor
Prepares test sample for analysis, conducts processing of LFD and interprets result. Provides results to Results Recorder. Ensures cleaning of processing desks.

Covid-19 Co-ordinator
Signs off and schedules testing activities; ensuring communications and consents are actioned; management of positive cases as per school and college guidelines.

Registration Assistant
Responsible for ensuring subjects have registered and distributing test kits on arrival. Ensures orderly entry of subjects onto the testing site.

Results Recorder
Collates results from Processor and uploads to the NHS Test and Trace service. Further details on the process for using this service will be provided separately.

Cleaner
Cleans the testing desks, and ensures waste is correctly disposed of, including working with clinical waste provider to dispose of clinical waste.

Residential Support Worker – SEND (Young People) – Northumberland

Residential Support Worker SEND, Northumberland

You will be joining a new team of Residential Support Workers who will help create a home for four children/young people with learning difficulties / ASD within a new children’s home. Within this role work you will be working with young people with challenging behaviours. You will have responsibility for promoting and ensuring the safety, care, well-being, learning and development of the children to enable their growth in confidence and social and engage with their education. You will be working on a shift rota basis working evenings and weekends.

The requirements of this role are:

  • Ideally, you will be an experienced support worker who has worked in a residential setting and / or worked with children and young people with challenging behaviours.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.

We are looking to recruit personable, flexible and motivated Health Care Assistants to support our qualified staff with the delivery of care to our patients. You will be involved in the personal care and meeting the psychological needs of a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of mental and physical issues.

What we’d like from you: Previous experience within a healthcare setting is essential.

Personality disorder with complex treatment and risk management needs, including factors such as co-morbid mental illness, self-harm or substance misuse
Mental illness and complex needs
Primary diagnosis of schizophrenia
Forensic history, including violence or abuse
Substance abuse history which requires an inpatient stay

Support Worker – Newcastle

Our client based in Newcastle are looking for several Support Workers to support a young gentleman with Learning Disabilities, Autism and challenging behaviour.

The role will be working on a 2:1 basis this will include waking nights and shift work. The role is permanent to start in January 2021.

Car driver would be an advantage.

Previous experience is required for these roles, ideally a NVQ Leve 2 in Health and Social Care.

Support Worker

Support Workers Required (Learning Disabilities & complex needs)

We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join Advocate Recruitment to work in partnership with our clients across County Durham & the Teesside area.. You will work with people who have varying degrees of physical and learning disabilities as well as mental health and autism. You will need to promote independence and support them to lead as fulfilling life as possible, incorporating both therapy based activities and social based activities.
Throughout the day, you will be expected to help residents with the everyday challenges of washing, dressing and eating. Crucially, enabling them to carry out tasks, chores and hobbies. You will be out and about, enjoying life together and no single day will be the same.

Advocate Recruitment are currently looking for experienced and dedicated Social Workers to work full-time & part-time in the North East including Newcastle, Sunderland, Northumberland and Teesside areas within the Looked After Children Team. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children’s Services and be registered with Social Work England.

Duties of the Social Worker:

  • Carrying out Looked after Children reviews
  • Ensuring Child Protection procedures are adhered to
  • Working with cases in care proceedings
  • Undertaking risk assessments
  • Putting in place multi agency plans for children returning to their families

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
